About Lab - Our Story
Our experienced Financial Planner, Jamie Flook, has been immersed in the financial services world for 19 years and been a practicing Financial Planner for the last 9 of those, helping many individuals and families, in a variety of circumstances.

As a Certified Financial Planner CFP® through the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI), Jamie is one of only 1,000 Financial Planners in the UK to hold this designation and is amongst the UK's top financial professionals. He's also been rated as one of the Top 35 Next Generation Professionals by New Model Adviser.

He set up Lab Financial Planning to provide a full Financial Planning and Wealth Management service to help
Business Owners and Busy Professionals.
​​In our experience, most financial planners are only interested in working with people at, or in, retirement.
At Lab, we're also happy helping clients who want are planning their retirement, and we have many happily-retired clients.
​
However, not many financial planners want to work with people who are in the middle of their career, people building their wealth, want the best for their family and want to protect them.
This is where Lab is different. We don't only work with people who have already accumulated their wealth. We are there to help you build financial security and help you do the things you want to do, irrespective of how old you are.

We're big fans of utilising tech as much as possible to make things easy for everyone, and regular contact so that we're both on the same page and you know what to expect from us.
Jamie has helped us with our financial planning for eight years now as we moved into retirement. We have always stayed with Jamie as his career developed and we are delighted that he has set up Lab Financial Planning.

Why the name Lab?
Jamie grew up with Labradors. First was a beautifully-tempered Golden Lab called Harry, after which came Millie, a naturally mischievous and food-driven Chocolate Lab, who is still going strong at 11.
​
And now Jamie and his partner Lorna have added a third colour to the set, by getting a Fox-Red Lab, Phoenix.
​
When Jamie thought about the name for the new financial planning business he wanted to start, it didn't take very long at all to settle on 'Lab Financial Planning'.
​
The character traits Labs are best known for, are those he wants the business to reflect and be known for: friendly, high-spirited, intelligent, trusting, trusted, loyal and most importantly, by your side, come what may.​​​​

Outside of Work
Jamie lives in Claverham (google maps link) with his partner Lorna and Phoenix.
​
When he's not running the business and helping clients, you can usually find him walking Phoenix across the many fields and beaches around North Somerset. He also keeps threatening to get back to being a (very average!) runner, having run a few half marathons previously.
​
He and Lorna love to travel when time allows, so if you have any recommended places to visit, he'd be keen to hear them!
